PDA and camp

Dell Axim x51 and Palm Tungsten e2 look the best and the most-reasonably priced according to Consumer Reports. This would mean that I can access internet at camp. I love the idea, sitting in a bunk with a laptop connected to a PDA, linking up with three dozen satellites, costing sixty dollars per month, syncing my "contacts" and downloading my email, meanwhile all of the kids want to play soccer or something. Whatever.

And I will reply NO, don't you all understand that I have a blog to update? It's the camp of the twenty-first century, baby, and that means I don't really spend any time with you.

The camp I'm referring to is Tawonga. It is located nearest Sonora, CA, about thirty minutes west of Yosemite National Park. The camp is the single largest back-country user of Yosemite land. Here is a wikipedia article on the camp, too.

Really, I can't wait to be there. Michal works as one of two "lead" chefs in the kitchen, and I'll be a counselor for three of four sessions, and a "sports specialist" (specialty = soccer) for the final and fourth session. I mean truly, what is better than heading out to the middle of nowhere, being assigned a bunk full of little ones, having a whole summer wide open with nothing to do but enjoy (and be responsible) and then be able to plug in all the electronics and REALLY escape. Update the blog. Bliss. Just kidding. Sorta.
