The convocation, where the school says hey to new staff, was greater than I expected - Sandy Pfeiffer is a talented speaker. Everything that he said with a good affect, like gut-appeal, and comes on in a good way. He was self-deprecating and then followed that with concerns about problems with graduates finding life's work and how this is the colleges, and his responsibility.
When he talks about changing the school especially his heart is with it and he challenges people to meet his focus, like when he speaks about reaching in to the world it comes with an amount of courage. He also spoke about how this takes time, committment, and that this is a place that works well, and the accolades received, focused on sustainability that he defined financially as well as our resources.
The speech, not yet posted at this webpage, is worth reading for those at or interested in Warren Wilson. And the rest of training - more days ought to be like today, with ping pong in between the "Mediation workshop" and "Building Healthy Communities" - hey yah!
