In the office when the UPS truck drove up and the driver came and asked for an office staff to sign for five packages; I walked over to a building next to the offices and asked of someone on office staff who was not on-duty, "Hey, could you sign for these or find someone who can?" He says, "No, go to check the office." At this point I was on time-off, like any counselors who is in the office, and he just wasn't feeling standing up from the couch, which I understand sometimes though that isn't how this place feels, usually.
On the other hand, the a lifeguard at our sweat tonight is the type of staff member who does his job and his life differently. During song sessions he's up with kids and staff, but he doesn't have to at all. He led a walk back from the sweat at the river while Josh and I gathered stuff. Then he offered to stay with the kids at the cabin until we got back, despite the situation being a long time after ten pm which is the time he was scheduled until.
