My brother is at the University of Vermont, and the University of Michigan loses to Oregon

at the University of Vermont.

In not good college news, the University of Michigan effectively ended their season with a loss to the unranked University of Oregon. What this means is that the U of M team has lost four straight games. In the years that I've followed the team a loss, sometimes at the hands of Ohio State - otherwise in the national title or Rose Bowl game - is a big thing. The U of M loss to Appalachian State was enough for a lot of writers to call it one of the greatest upsets in college football and sports history. Here are those four losses, after Lloyd Carr's despair.

1. Ohio State in what was called one of the greatest games in college football history.
2. USC in the Rose Bowl last year
3. Appalachian State University, one of the greatest upsets in college football history.

4. Oregon, in what Mitch Albom described as "a butt kicking" in the above-linked article

Read here about the record crowd (28,000) at the Appalachian State home game in Boone, NC, today. The first following video is of the "great" OSU game followed by a video of the more recent App. State upset.
