So John and I went to Shabbat dinner as a result of a friend's, friend's, friend's connection to the room that we are staying at in Montreal. (We are now about two or three stories behind, in terms of trying to keep on on the blog).
This dinner was outrageous. There are so many parts of the dinner from the fourteen courses that were served interspersed with shots of Scotch and Birkat Hamazon chants. The part that I'm most surprised by was that from this random meeting of Jews in Montreal, that I randomly attended based on a connection that ran from Michigan to Texas to Israel to Montreal then to this home. It is that these people spent a lot of time and Sabbaths with a girl from my high school whom in fact lived about twenty houses from mine for the large part of our young lives: I mean we went to Elementary school together!
