Fall, attachment, differences to Spring!

I remember in the spring when I was not payed
for my soccer games
I returned to Michigan and didn't worry
and got a check more than two months late
I didn't care

Now in the fall at a middle school game
They say to me with total and complete honesty
"You will receive a check within three days"
I always do, but I worry about it now
And I check my mailbox early

I think this is because the season Fall, not the season Spring
