I am incredibly good at starting things, ridiculously poor at concluding them. On this blog the past summer, for instance, I began an attempt at owning only 100 personal items. That did not make it to its third post.
Florida was a good and solid trip. I re energized myself for two weeks of school: one week of school rather, and another week of final exams. I bicycled, which is increasingly hard for longer distances in Asheville. I loved seeing fam.
I want to start a project over the winter and beyond to cook each recipe in Mark Bittman's cookbook, How to Cook Everything. Something I started when I returned home Sunday was saving money. I easily spend five dollars a day on random drink, snack, food: gum, coffee, crikey! I mean, roasted chestnuts from the Greenlife... damn. Noticing that I have abundant groceries at the house, but not wanting to suffer from scurvy, I decided to budget $20.00 for food for two weeks from now until heading home - so that fresh fruit and veg. are not limited to lunch in the caf., and so I can eat in town or something . . . once.
I'll tell you later if I did it. But longer term, this will be a good project: his book is simple, it is broad, there is a large community of bloggers who "Cook the Books".
Hopefully, I'll begin tonight here. WOOH! For now: my first middle school basketball game (I've refereed varsity, adult, premier soccer; this is my first non-soccer matchup). Good luck to myself!
