After acquiring 8 quarts of Organic Valley half & half from friends I've made yogurt four times. It is easy and the result is superior.
1 quart of milk or half and half or a combo, heat to a light boil then remove, let cool to 110 deg F, add 1/4 cup yogurt and whisk, add mix to a thermos, or to a container placed in a cooler with bottles of warm water to maintain the temp., an oven on the warm setting, or of course a yogurt machine. Wait 4-8 hours - 4 for a thinner, 8 for a custard, texture.
